Carlsbad Village is the heart and soul of Carlsbad, CA. It is a walkable downtown village steps from the beach that boasts shops, restaurants, bars, hotels, and everything in between. Located in North San Diego County, it is very accessible via plane, train, and automobile.
Whether you are coming from near or far, Los Angeles, Orange County, or San Diego, we suggest taking a Pacific Surfliner train to the Carlsbad Village station. This will allow you to enjoy the picturesque California coast while avoiding traffic & leaving the hassle of a car behind. Note that we will be providing transportation to/from hotels and the ceremony/reception sites, and in addition to Uber, Lyft, and Taxis being available there are ample public transportation options too (and even plenty of bicycle parking)!

- San Diego Airport (SAN) – 36 miles to Carlsbad
Train: Uber/Lyft/Taxi/Shuttle to Santa Fe Transit Depot (3 miles). Take Amtrak Pacific Surfliner or Metrolink Coaster line to the Carlsbad Village stop.
Driving: Take I-5 North (35 miles). Take exit 50 for Carlsbad Village Dr.
- Orange County – John Wayne Airport (SNA) – 54 miles to Carlsbad
Train: Uber/Lyft/Taxi/Shuttle to Santa Ana train station (7 miles). Take Amtrak Pacific Surfliner to Carlsbad Village stop. Alternatively, Uber/Lyft/Taxi/Shuttle to Tustin station (7 miles) and ride the Metrolink Orange Line to Oceanside stop & switch to the Metrolink Coaster line to Carlsbad Village stop.
Driving: Merge onto I-405 South (7.5 miles) Merge onto I-5 South (43.1 miles) Take exit 50 for Carlsbad Village Dr.
- Long Beach Airport (LGB) – 71 miles to Carlsbad
Train: LGB is not advisable for taking the train
Driving: Take I-405 South (16 miles) Take exit 10 for CA-73 S toward San Diego
(0.5 miles) Continue onto CA-73 South (17.4 miles) Merge onto I-5 South (34.4 miles) Take exit 50 for Carlsbad Village Dr.
- Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) – 91 miles to Carlsbad
Train: Uber/Lyft/Taxi/Shuttle (available at LAX Terminal 1) to Union Station (20 miles). Ride the Amtrak Pacific Surfliner to Carlsbad Village stop, or ride the Metrolink Orange Line to Oceanside stop & switch to the Metrolink Coaster line to Carlsbad Village stop.
Driving: Take 405 South for 35 miles. Merge to CA-73 South (17 miles). Take I-5 South (35 miles). Get off at Exit 50 Carlsbad Village Dr.
- Burbank Hollywood Airport, aka Bob Hope Airport (BUR) – 101 miles to Carlsbad
Train: Walk to the Burbank Airport stop (just outside the airport). Ride the Amtrak Pacific Surfliner to the Carlsbad Village stop. Alternatively, take the Amtrak Pacific Surfliner or Metrolink Ventura County line to Union Station, switch to the Metrolink Orange Line to Oceanside stop & finally switch to the Metrolink Coaster line to Carlsbad Village stop.
Driving: Take I-5 S (101 miles). Exit 50 for Carlsbad Village Dr.
